Engrish worse than ever

In China all children are taught English from very early age. Still, the level of profiency in English is often really bad. Take a look at the following, really funny, examples of so called engrish:

Engrish club sign

All the things not to do...

Don't fall down

Take care of the gap

I suddenly realise that my English ain’t that bad at all… A great ego-boost post, cheers. 😉 I started to wonder if the Engrish presented in the pics is actually straightly translated from Chinese; do you know? I mean, would sentences formed like that be fully comprehensible in Chinese? We all know all too well that translating things from our mother tongue straightly into another language usually just doesn’t work, don’t we…oh well, as it seems, except for some Chinese people, perhaps… *grin*

Well, it looks like direct translation, that’s all I know. But I am baffled that the people making the signs can’t be bothered to get a decent translation. It shouldn’t be so difficult to find people with good English skills even in China.
